Shibamata Taishakuten is a temple in far eastern Tokyo whose main hall is sheathed in deep relief wood carvings depicting the Buddha's life and teachings. It stands six minutes' walk from Shibamata Station at the end of an old shopping street of confectioners and dango shops, and opens 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, an hour later on Saturdays and Sundays.
