Tokyo · Kanto
A rare pairing of a 1917 stone Western mansion by Josiah Conder above a traditional Japanese pond garden by Ogawa Jihei VII, in northern Tokyo's Nishigahara — Western architecture and hillside terrace on the high ground, a strolling pond garden of stone lanterns and clipped pines below. The terraced rose beds flower in mid-May and mid-October.
