Kanagawa · Kanto
Closed for a full renovation from 7 May 2026 until 29 October 2026 — the museum, its moss garden and the whole Shinsenkyo grounds are shut, with no separate garden access during the works. Hakone's oldest museum, founded 1952, holds a collection of Japanese ceramics from the Jomon period onward, set in a celebrated moss-and-maple garden designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty. The grounds, garden and a new cafe reopen 30 October 2026, with the main exhibition halls following on 23 December 2026.
