A fenced, visitor-capped primeval forest reserve in Shirokanedai, run by the National Museum of Nature and Science, preserving a fragment of the old Musashino woodland with 200+ plant species, a marsh, and ponds. The site holds 2,500-year-old shell middens and later served as an Edo-period daimyo estate before being opened as a nature park in 1949.
