The 69th-floor Sky Garden observatory — the reason most people come to the Landmark Tower — has been closed since 1 January 2026 for a building-wide renovation not expected to finish before 2028, so the tower can be entered but the view cannot. Completed in 1993, the 296-metre tower was Japan's tallest building for over two decades and anchors Minato Mirai 21, Yokohama's waterfront district of glass towers, the historic Nippon Maru sailing ship and the Cosmo Clock 21 Ferris wheel, all of which are unaffected.
