Haruna Shrine

榛名神社

Gunma · Kanto

Shinto shrine founded 586 CE on the slopes of Mount Haruna, built directly into a dramatic rock gorge; six structures are Important Cultural Properties, reached via a mossy cedar-lined approach past a natural rock gate (Zuishinmon) and waterfall.

Why we picked it

A well-known 'power spot' domestically but rarely appears in English-language Gunma coverage, unlike Ikaho/Kusatsu which we already have — genuinely atmospheric and currently a gap.
