Hoshi Onsen Chojukan

法師温泉 長寿館

Gunma · Kanto

Hoshi Onsen Chojukan is a nationally registered wooden ryokan deep in the Gunma mountains, celebrated for its Meiji-era Hoshi-no-Yu bathhouse where hot-spring water rises naturally through the pebble floor of the bath. The 1875 architecture and lantern-lit mixed bath make it one of Japan’s most storied secret-hot-spring inns.

Why it's hidden

A Meiji-era bathhouse where the spring rises through the stones underfoot — a bucket-list soak most travellers never find.
