Mori Art Museum

森美術館

Tokyo · Kanto

A contemporary art museum on the fifty-third floor of the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, showing large temporary exhibitions of Asian and international artists rather than a permanent collection. It keeps some of the latest hours of any museum in Tokyo, staying open to ten at night on most days.

Why we picked it

Visitors go up the tower for the observation deck and often do not realise the museum shares the floor, or that the late opening makes it a genuine evening option.

Note

  • Last admission 30 minutes before closing.
  • When a Tuesday falls on a public holiday the museum keeps the full day and stays open to 10:00 PM.
  • While an exhibition is running the museum takes no weekly closing day and opens every day; it closes only between exhibitions for installation, and those dates are announced per exhibition, so check before travelling.
  • The museum's information page publishes no year-end dates; any New-Year closure is not recorded here because it is not verified.
