Senjugahama Beach

Senjugahama Beach

千手ヶ浜

Tochigi · Kanto

A quiet pebble and sand shore on the far western side of Lake Chuzenji, backed by beech and birch forest with Mount Nantai across the water. No public road reaches it: visitors arrive by boat across the lake or on the low-emission bus from Akanuma, which is why it stays empty.

Why it's hidden

It is one of the few places in Nikko you cannot drive to, and the access barrier keeps it near-deserted even in autumn.
