Oarai Isosaki Jinja (Kamiiso Torii)
大洗磯前神社（神磯の鳥居）Ibaraki · Kanto
Shinto shrine founded 856 CE, rebuilt in 1690 with patronage from Tokugawa Mitsukuni. Its famous third torii, the Kamiiso-no-Torii, stands alone on a wave-battered rock offshore, facing east — a celebrated sunrise-photography spot where the gate glows red as the sun rises directly through it.
