Ryuzu Falls carries the Yukawa river down a 210-metre rock slope above Lake Chuzenji, splitting at the base around a boulder into two channels that give the fall its name — the dragon's head. A teahouse with a picture window sits directly at the foot of the split, so the view is available without a walk, and a path climbs the side of the cascade to the upper road. The surrounding maples and azaleas make the basin one of the busiest stops on the Oku-Nikko circuit when they colour in October.
