Musashi Ichinomiya Hikawa Shrine

武蔵一宮氷川神社

Saitama · Kanto

The ichinomiya (highest-ranked shrine) of former Musashi Province, with a 2km keyaki-lined sando approach (~650 trees) leading from the old Nakasendo through central Omiya — one of Japan's oldest shrines, over 2,400 years by tradition, and namesake origin of 'Omiya' (great shrine).

Why we picked it

Not hidden at all; Saitama's most historically significant shrine and head shrine of ~280 Hikawa shrines across Tokyo/Saitama; Belongs in as the prefecture's undisputed religious/historic #1.
