Gyoda Rice Field Art is a set of enormous pictures planted into the paddies outside Gyoda using rice varieties of different colours, viewed from the observation deck of the Kodai Hasu no Sato tower. The artwork is sown in spring and grows into legibility over the season, so the design is at its clearest from midsummer into autumn and is gone once the crop is harvested. The tower and the surrounding lotus park are open the rest of the year.
