Kameido Tenjin is a Tokyo shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the deity of learning, where students come to pray before examinations. Its wisteria trellises are the most famous sight, flowering in late April and early May above arched drum bridges and a carp pond. The grounds are free and open at all hours, with the main hall open 6:00 AM–5:00 PM.
