Hokkaido
A pale-blue Western-style guesthouse built in 1880 in central Sapporo (now beside Nakajima Park) as a state accommodation and reception hall for visiting dignitaries, including the Meiji Emperor. An Important Cultural Property, it is preserved as a museum of Meiji-era architecture — it is not a working hotel.
