Daisetsuzan Sounkyo Kurodake Ropeway
大雪山層雲峡・黒岳ロープウェイHokkaido
This aerial ropeway rises from Sounkyo Onsen to the 5th station of Mount Kurodake (about 1,300 m), from where a pair-lift and a hiking trail continue toward the 1,984 m summit and the wider Daisetsuzan plateau. The upper station is a prime spot for early-autumn foliage and, in winter, feeds one of Hokkaido's most powder-rich backcountry ski areas.
