Fukuyama Rose City

福山バラ公園

Hiroshima · Chugoku

Fukuyama has rebuilt itself around the rose since the post-war years, planting more than a million across the city and centring them on Rose Park near the castle. Located near the scenic Bingo coast, it also serves as a gateway to the historic port town of Tomonoura. The main flowering is in mid-May, with a second flush in October.

Why it's hidden

Many travelers focus on larger cities like Hiroshima and miss this floral paradise.
