Nison-in takes its name from its two principal statues, both designated Important Cultural Properties, which stand side by side on the altar. Admission is ¥500 for junior-high age and above and the temple opens 9:00–16:30. It sits at the quiet northern end of Arashiyama, past most of the crowds, and its maple avenue is the reason most people come in late autumn.
Usual hours — confirm with the official site for holidays + seasonal closures.
