Tsunoshima Bridge

角島大橋

Yamaguchi · Chugoku

A 1,780m curved bridge (opened 2000) linking Shimonoseki's mainland to Tsunoshima island across the Amagaseto Strait; toll-free, and one of Japan's longest bridges to a remote island. The water beneath runs a vivid emerald-to-cobalt, at its most intense under strong summer sun.

Why we picked it

A famous drive/photo spot in its own right, distinct from the general Shimonoseki place entry — the bridge and Amagase Park viewpoint is a specific, mappable destination that draws its own dedicated visit.
