Wakayama · Kansai
Kimiidera is a hillside temple above Wakayama city, reached by a steep 231-step stone stairway that opens at the top onto a wide view over Wakayama Bay. It takes its name from the three sacred wells on its grounds and holds a large gilded Kannon statue. Its cherry trees are traditionally among the first in the Kansai region to bloom, in late March.
