Ametaki Falls

雨滝

Tottori · Chugoku

A forty-metre falls at the head of a valley south-east of Tottori city, dropping into a basin of columnar basalt reached by a short walk down from the road. It is the largest of forty-eight falls on this mountain and the only one most people ever see.

Why it's hidden

Forty minutes inland from the dunes that bring every visitor to Tottori, on a road that ends shortly after it.
