Shikisai no Hill is a 15-hectare working flower farm on the rolling Biei hills, planted in broad horizontal bands of colour that follow the contours so the whole slope reads as stripes from the entrance. A tractor-drawn cart and buggies cover the ground for anyone not walking it, and an alpaca paddock sits at the top of the site. The Tokachi range fills the horizon behind, which is what makes the photographs.
