Hokkaido
A row of late-19th-century red brick warehouses on Hakodate's bay front, built as trading storehouses after the port opened to foreign commerce and converted into a shopping, dining and event complex in 1988. The waterside promenade is especially photogenic at dusk when the brick facades and harbour are lit up.
