Hokkaido
Furubira Onsen Shiokaze is the public hot-spring bathhouse run by the town of Furubira on the Sea of Japan side of the Shakotan Peninsula. Its water is a strongly coloured brown mineral spring, and the bathing halls look out over the fishing harbour and the open sea from a building modelled on traditional Japanese bathhouse architecture. It is a day-use facility, closed on the first and third Thursday of each month.
