Hoshi no Buranko (Star Swing Bridge)

星のブランコ

Osaka · Kansai

A 280-meter, 50-meter-high wooden-plank pedestrian suspension bridge spanning a forested gorge in Hoshida Prefectural Forest Park — one of Japan's largest wooden suspension footbridges — offering 360-degree panoramic views over the treetops. The forest below turns red and gold through November, when the crossing is at its most striking.

Why we picked it

Reaching it requires a 40-60 minute uphill hike from the nearest station, so it is known mainly to local hikers rather than typical Osaka-city tourists.
