A Shingon monzeki temple in the Ono district of southeastern Kyoto, associated with the legendary Heian beauty-poet Ono no Komachi -- its grounds hold her make-up well and a mound where she is said to have buried love letters. Its Ono Baien plum garden blooms with about 230 trees in mid-March, when the Hanezu Odori dance is performed.
