Hozenji Yokocho is a stone-paved alley near Namba, barely wide enough for two people to pass, lined with lantern-lit bars and small restaurants. Its temple holds a statue of Fudo Myoo so thickly covered in moss — from visitors ladling water over it for luck — that the face is barely readable. The alley and the temple are free and open at all hours, though the eateries keep their own times.
Usual hours — confirm with the official site for holidays + seasonal closures.
