Sarutobi is a dramatically narrow passage on the Yokogawa tributary where rock walls over 20 m high close to within a few meters of each other. It is named for monkeys that were said to leap across the gap between the cliffs. A flat-bottomed ferry glides through the shaded corridor of stone and clear water.
