Hyogo · Kansai
A waterfront park on the site of the old American wharf in Kobe harbour, holding the red lattice Port Tower, the wave-roofed Maritime Museum and a stretch of quay deliberately left as the 1995 earthquake broke it, tilted lamp-posts and all. The BE KOBE letters on the promenade are the city's most photographed object.
