Philosopher's Path
哲学の道Kyoto · Kansai
The Philosopher's Path is a stone walkway following a canal through eastern Kyoto, linking Ginkaku-ji at its northern end to the temples around Nanzen-ji in the south. It is named after the philosopher Nishida Kitaro, who is said to have walked it while thinking, and the canal is lined with cherry trees that make it heavily crowded in early April. The path is free and open at all hours.
