An 85-meter cascade on a tributary of the Akaishi River flowing out of the World Heritage Shirakami Mountains, and one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls. Its slender, layered flow is said to resemble the figure of Kannon with hands clasped in prayer, and it has long been venerated as sacred.
