Beppu City Traditional Bamboo Crafts Center

別府市竹細工伝統産業会館

Oita · Kyushu

A museum and workshop space dedicated to Beppu take-zaiku, a centuries-old bamboo-weaving craft designated a Japanese Traditional Craft. The center displays historic and contemporary bamboo ware, hosts craftsmen demonstrations, and runs hands-on basket-weaving workshops.

Why it's hidden

Adds a non-onsen, craft/culture stop that diversifies Beppu itineraries beyond hot springs and hells, which is currently all the corridor's coverage offers.
