A worship hall on the north shore of Oshima built so that people can pray toward the sacred island of Okinoshima, roughly 48 km out to sea, which is off-limits to the general public. The present building dates from 1933 but stone markers show worship here since at least the mid-18th century, and on clear days Okinoshima itself can be glimpsed on the horizon.
