The smallest and darkest of Kanazawa's three geisha quarters, a single lane of tall wooden teahouses pressed against the Asano River with the lanterns reflecting in the water at dusk. A narrow flight called the Kuragari-zaka, the darkness slope, climbs away from the river between two walls.
