Takabutoyama Observatory

高舞登山展望所

Kumamoto · Kyushu

A 117m hilltop park in Matsushima-machi, Kamiamakusa City, developed as a formal observation deck reachable by car from National Route 266; officially selected as one of "Japan's 100 Best Sunset Views." From the summit you can see the Amakusa Five Bridges, the Ariake Sea and Mount Unzen to the west, and the Yatsushiro Sea to the east.

Why we picked it

A well-documented named viewpoint for the Five Bridges, yet absent from mainstream English-language guides, which mostly gesture at "drive the Pearl Line" without naming a specific lookout.
