Opened in 1991, this compact but skillfully composed Japanese garden distills the landscape of Aichi Prefecture into 3.7 hectares: its central pond represents Ise Bay, fed by a cascade standing in for the Kiso River flowing off a hill modeled on Mount Ontake. A Kyoto-built Sukiya-style teahouse, Seiu-tei, sits at its heart, tucked into a quiet residential pocket just south of Atsuta Shrine's crowds.
