Nozawa Onsen Village
野沢温泉村Nagano · Chubu
Open year-round: the village's 13 free public bathhouses and the boiling Ogama hot spring source run every day of the year, with skiing layered on top from late November to early May. Nozawa Onsen is a working hot-spring village of steep lanes and wooden bathhouses that visitors soak through in sequence, following local etiquette. The Nagasaka Gondola also runs a summer green season from mid-July to late October for hiking and mountain views.

- Village is free to walk; the 13 soto-yu public baths have no admission charge — each has an offering box and visitors are asked for a small voluntary donation (寸志) toward the yu-nakama who maintain them. Open 5:00–23:00 (Apr–Nov) / 6:00–23:00 (Dec–Mar).
