Mogami River Boat Cruise

The Mogami River Boat Cruise is a traditional pole-boating trip through a steep river gorge in Yamagata, the boatman singing the Mogami river song as the walls close in. It follows the river that inspired the poet Matsuo Basho. The gorge walls are especially vivid when the leaves turn in late October and November.
