Naruko Gorge

鳴子峡

Miyagi · Tohoku

Naruko Gorge is a steep-sided ravine in Miyagi with a walking trail along the rim and the iconic red Ofukazawa bridge spanning it, offering long views down the gorge. The maples that fill it draw photographers when they turn red in late October and early November.

Why it's hidden

Despite its beauty, many mainstream travelers overlook Naruko Gorge in favor of more famous destinations like Nikko or Kyoto.
