A dedicated museum on Amakusa's hidden-Christian history, opened 1979 on the former bailey of Hondo Castle. Holds the nationally important Amakusa Shiro battle flag carried during the 1637-38 Shimabara Rebellion, alongside other Kirishitan-era artifacts.
