The halfway point (2,305m) on Mount Fuji's north flank and the most popular of the mountain's four 5th-station trailheads, on the Yoshida Trail. Shops, restaurants, an observation deck, and a small shrine (Komitake Jinja) cluster here — most visitors, climbers and sightseers alike, experience Mount Fuji from this point. Access is by the Fuji Subaru Line toll road, which has no fixed seasonal closure but is snow-dependent above the lower car parks: in a heavy winter the 5th Station can be cut off from mid-January until snow clearing reopens the full line in April, so confirm the road status before a January-to-March visit.

Admission

No admission to visit the 5th Station itself. Fuji Subaru Line toll road ¥2,800/car (private cars banned Jul 3–Sep 10, 2026 climbing season — use shuttle bus from Fuji Hokuroku Parking, ~¥2,100-2,400 round trip); parking at the station is free. Climbers continuing onto the Yoshida Trail in the controlled 2026 season (Jul 1–Sep 10) pay a separate ¥4,000/person hiking fee at the trailhead gate.
