Kagoshima · Kyushu
One of the few waterfalls in Japan that plunges directly into the sea — Toroki-no-taki drops about 6m into the mouth of the Tainokawa River on Yakushima's southeast coast, with the granite spire of Mocchomu-dake rising behind it. A short boardwalk from the roadside reaches the viewpoint. Best timed for april–November (rainy through June).
Usual hours — confirm with the official site for holidays + seasonal closures.
