Nanatsugama Sea Caves

屋形石の七ツ釜

Saga · Kyushu

Seven columnar-basalt sea caves carved by Genkai Sea waves on the Karatsu coast, inside Genkai Quasi-National Park. Designated a National Natural Monument in 1925; the largest cave runs ~110m deep. Explorable by the sightseeing boat 'Ika-maru' from Yobuko Port, or viewed from clifftop trails above.

Why we picked it

Dramatic coastal geology overshadowed by Yobuko's squid-market fame next door; rarely appears in mainstream Saga itineraries despite Natural Monument status.
