GALA Yuzawa Snow Resort

GALA Yuzawa is the only ski resort in Japan with its own shinkansen station: the train arrives directly into the base building, where the ticket counter, rental desk and gondola are all under one roof, putting the snow about 75 minutes from Tokyo without a bus or transfer. The mountain above divides into three linked areas across the Yuzawa ridge and connects on foot or by lift to the neighbouring Yuzawa Kogen and Ishiuchi slopes. Lifts usually run from mid-December into early May, with dates set by snowfall each season.
