Murodo (Yuki-no-Otani Snow Corridor)

室堂・雪の大谷

Toyama · Chubu

The high-altitude terminal (2,450m) of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, where each spring snow-clearing operations carve a walkable corridor through walls of accumulated snow reaching 7-20m — the Yuki-no-Otani Snow Wall Walk, a 500m walking zone open mid-April to late June.

Why it's hidden

The Alpine Route is known in outline, but most content treats it as a single generic scenic mountain pass.
