Nokonoshima Island Park is a hilltop park on an island a ten-minute ferry ride from Fukuoka, with lawns and flower beds looking back across the bay to the city. The beds are replanted for each season in turn — rapeseed in late winter, poppies and roses in spring, sunflowers in summer, cosmos carpets in autumn — so there is usually something in flower. Best timed for spring (March–May) for rapeseed and poppies; Autumn (September–October) for cosmos.
Usual hours — confirm with the official site for holidays + seasonal closures.
