Sanjo Falls

三条の滝

Fukushima · Tohoku

A thundering 100 m-high, 30 m-wide cascade on the Tadami River at the northwestern edge of Oze, one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls. It is fed by the entire outflow of the Ozegahara marsh, so it roars at its most powerful during the spring snowmelt when the volume is immense.

Why it's hidden

It lies at the far end of a long, steep spur trail off the main marsh loop, so only committed hikers make the extra detour to its viewing deck.
