Monet's Pond (Nameless Pond)
名もなき池（通称：モネの池）Gifu · Chubu
The pond sits in the precinct of Nemichi Shrine at Itadori in Seki, fed by groundwater clear enough to see straight to the bottom. Water lilies grow across it and koi hang in the water above their own shadows, which is where the nickname came from — it has no official name of its own. Morning light between about nine and eleven gives the clearest water.
