A Nichiren temple complex in the hills behind Hakui whose five-storey pagoda of 1618 is the only one of its kind on the Sea of Japan coast, standing among ten buildings designated Important Cultural Properties. The Maeda lords rebuilt it over the seventeenth century and the grounds have stayed essentially unchanged since.
