The main trailhead for climbing Mt. Yufu (1,583m), a dormant twin-peaked volcano nicknamed the 'Fuji of Oita' that towers over the Yufuin basin. The trail climbs through pastureland and broadleaf forest to a fork called Goyagoshi before reaching the East and West peaks; a round trip takes roughly 4-5 hours.
